The Board of Directors of Blue Hill Cemetery, Inc. ask that you comply with the following Rules and Regulations for the Bronze Memorial Park

A NOTE ABOUT UPRIGHT STONE MONUMENTS

If you do not presently have an upright stone monument and wish to have one placed on your lot, please call 781-843-9000 or stop by the cemetery office to learn about the required protocol and procedures. If you would like to arrange maintenance care on an existing upright stone monument, please follow the CONVENIENCE SERVICES tab to learn about the associated charges. To schedule maintenance care on an existing upright stone monument, please call the cemetery office. For recent interments and for a limited amount of time following the interment, Blue Hill Cemetery will provide a temporary marker at the gravesite.

ADORNING A GRAVESITE YOURSELF

Gardens –

There must be an upright stone monument on a lot in order to plant a garden. The dimensions of the garden must not exceed the width of the base of the monument or extend out any further than one foot from the base in front of the monument. Gardens may not be planted at the sides or the back of the monument. All gardens must be removed by November 1st. Shrubs – Shrubs are allowed on either side of an upright stone monument; one shrub per side. The shrubs must be an evergreen variety such as yew, boxwood, or Alberta spruce. Shrubs must be kept neat and trimmed. Unattended and unsightly shrubs will be removed by grounds personnel and a charge to the lot owner will be incurred. Holiday, Seasonal and Special Occasions –Potted plants, cut flowers, artificial arrangements, etc., must be placed in front of the upright stone monument and extend no further than one foot away from the base of the monument. Adornments placed for a holiday e.g., Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., will be removed by grounds personnel one week following the holiday. The same protocol is in effect for seasonal and special occasion adornments such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Funeral Flowers –Casket sprays and other floral arrangements placed on a grave following a committal service and interment will remain in place for two to three days.
