Entombment is the above-ground placement of a casket within a mausoleum crypt. When you purchase an entombment right at Blue Hill Cemetery, you are purchasing the Right of Placement — the right to inter a loved one in your designated crypt. Blue Hill Cemetery retains ownership of the property itself.

Each crypt in the Garden of Ascension Mausoleum is designed to hold one casket. The price of each crypt includes a personalized cast bronze marker, affixed to the front of the crypt, bearing the name, dates, and any other inscription you choose.

Entombment service charges are separate from the Right of Placement. Please see our Ancillary Charges for those fees.

The Garden of Ascension Mausoleum offers crypts across five rows — Rows A through E — spanning from the lower to the upper level of the structure. Single crypts and side-by-side pairs are available in all rows.

Bronze Marker Included

Every crypt includes a personalized cast bronze marker, securely attached to the front of the crypt — bearing the name, dates, and inscription of your choosing.

Side-by-Side Options

Two adjacent crypts may be purchased together in every row, allowing couples or family members to rest side by side within the mausoleum.

Casket Requirements

Caskets intended for mausoleum entombment must be constructed of metal and equipped with a protective sealing mechanism to preserve the integrity of the crypt.

  • Blue Hill Cemetery retains ownership of all property; purchasers hold the Right of Entombment only.

  • Each crypt is designed to hold one casket only.
