Blue Hill Crematory and Ridge Room
BLUE HILL CREMATORY and the RIDGE ROOM opened in 2014, thus beginning our partnership with funeral directors and funeral homes in fulfilling their clients’ requests for cremation and cremation-related services. Our crematory facility is equipped with state-of-the-art cremation chambers, a seamless identification protocol that utilizes bar code scanning technology, and a secure database program designed specifically for crematories. The Ridge Room is an attractive and serene space that facilitates small gatherings of family and friends for brief committal rituals. The room is designed to provide attendees the opportunity to view the casket or cremation container being placed into the cremation chamber at the start of the cremation process.
Blue Hill Crematory is a third-party cremation service provider exclusively to funeral homes. As such, we do not schedule cremations or services including cremation directly with the general public. If you wish to arrange a cremation and a funeral or memorial service that includes cremation, please contact the funeral home of your choice. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FOR RIDGE ROOM EVENTS
- Events mus be scheduled by funeral home personnel a minimum of 48 hours in advance on a “first-come, first-served” reservation basis. We schedule only one Ridge Room Event per day.
- Events may be scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at either 11:00 am or 12:00 pm. We do not schedule Ridge Room Events for Monday or Saturday.
- Event fees are in addition to our standard cremation fees

The event takes place on the patio at the front or side entrance of the Ridge Room. Attendees will not enter the crematory facility; attendees will not witness the start of the cremation process.
Witnessing Start of Cremation / No Ceremony – Maximum 10 Attendees for 20 Minutes

Attendees will escort the casket or cremation container into the Ridge Room and remain there to witness the start of the cremation process.
Small Ceremonial Gathering & Witnessing Start of Cremation Process – Maximum 10 Attendees for 30 Minutes

Attendees will escort the casket or cremation container into the Ridge Room and remain there to participate in the ceremony and to witness the start of the cremation process.
Large Ceremonial Gathering & Witnessing Start of Cremation Process – Maximum 30 Attendees for 60 Minutes

Attendees will escort the casket or cremation container into the Ridge Room and remain there to participate in the ceremony and to witness the start of the cremation process.
Larger Ceremonial Gathering & Witnessing Start of Cremation Process – Maximum 30 Attendees for 90 Minutes
