A NOTE ABOUT FLAT BRONZE MARKERS
If you do not presently have a flat bronze marker and wish to have one placed on your lot, please call 781-843-9000 or stop by the cemetery office to learn about the required protocol and procedures. If you would like to arrange maintenance care on an existing flat bronze marker, please follow the CONVENIENCES SERVICES tab to learn about the associated charges. To schedule maintenance care on an existing flat bronze marker, please call the cemetery office. For recent interments and for a limited amount of time following the interment, Blue Hill Cemetery will provide a temporary marker at the gravesite.
ADORNING A GRAVESITE YOURSELF
Bronze Vase
Fresh cut or artificial flowers must be placed in the bronze vase that is attached to the flat bronze marker. The standard timeframe (weather permitting) for having the vase in an upright position is April through October. We require all fresh cut or artificial flowers to be removed from the vase and the vase to be inverted no later than November 1. Planting flowers or shrubbery on a flat bronze marker lot is prohibited. Funeral Flowers
Casket sprays and other floral arrangements placed on a grave following a committal service and interment will remain in place for two to three days.
